In today's world pets are the new kids. How many of you were a fur momma before actually having kids? How many of you choose to not have kids of your own and always be a fur momma? Well, I am here today to tell you all the reasons why being a fur momma counts!

A choice we make

In this day and age pets are a part of the family. We include our pets in almost everything we do; Christmas cards, family barbeques, shopping (of course at pet-friendly stores), road trips, vacations, and so much more. We take on the responsibility of giving them the best life possible. RESPONSIBILITY is one of the biggest reasons why being a fur momma counts. Being a fur momma is a different type of motherhood, while we did not birth them, we chose them to be a part of our family. We chose to take care of them and give them the life they deserve.

To love and care

Do you remember that moment you knew that furry pet was meant to be a part of your family? Whether you adopted from a shelter or bought from a breeder, that moment is unforgettable. It's the first time you experienced what it was like to love a pet. LOVE is also one of the biggest reasons why being a fur momma counts. Loving your pet through the good and the bad. Being a fur momma is getting to enjoy the snuggles, the playtime, the moments when they ace a command, the joy of watching them zoom around the backyard, and the laughter of the funny things they do. Being a fur momma is also experiencing the moments when they do something wrong like grab meat off the kitchen counter, have an accident in the house, get into the garbage, not listen to a command, etc. Through the good and the bad being able to watch them grow and no matter how old they get still depend on you and love you is the best part of being a fur momma.

When we bring a pet into our family, it no longer becomes just a dog or just a cat, it becomes a part of our family. Being a fur momma counts because of the love, care, selflessness, and joy we bring to their lives. It is such an important role to play especially because they do not have as long of a life as we do. We are their entire life while they are only part of ours.
