First Visit

What To Expect?

The goal of the first visit is for us to listen to what is bothering you. The second is for us to assess, diagnose, then treat you for your chief complaint (the primary reason why you visit us). We will also assess to see your general overall health from a Chinese Medicine perspective and provide you with a treatment plan. YOU get to decide how we should move forward, but we will provide you with our expertise. You can expect to be heard and be well taken care of. All of our providers are great at our trade and our different experiences in life and in training make our team diverse to help you. If you have a provider you’d like to request, please indicate it in your appointment comment section.

Please note your first visit covers an in depth consultation, exam, and treatment.

Treatment Plan

You will be given a treatment plan and we will discuss

  • dietary plan & supplement recommendations as needed

  • exercises recommendation as needed and access to the app and tracking

  • total number of visits

  • frequency in a week

  • financial breakdown

  • referrals to other providers as needed

  • Home visitations are also available case by case

Fees and Insurance

We collect all fees up front at the time of service.

In Network or Out of Network?

Only Dr. Amy Truong, L.Ac is in network with a handful of companies like

  • Cigna, Landmark, United Health Care

To find out, please contact your insurance company directly.

All other providers are out of network.

Important: We are not in network with American Specialty Health (ASH). Please be advised, for example, while your parent plan may be Cigna, your acupuncture services may be handled by ASH. We will provide you with a superbill which you may forward to your insurance for processing.

What if acupuncture isn’t covered?

Reasons for no coverage may be due to:

  • deductible has not been met

  • insurance policy does not cover acupuncture in general

  • maxed out on your annual/monthly frequency per your insurance policy

  • specific complaints are not covered like fertility acupuncture and facial acupuncture

What we will do for non-insured patients

We will collect the non-insured service rate

  • $195 for the first visit for 85 mins which includes

    • consultation & physical exam

    • acupuncture

    • nutritional guidance

    • exercise regimen

    • additional cost applied for: cupping, tuina/massage, scraping/gua sha, herbs

  • $150 for acupuncture follow up or you can purchase one of our packages

    • Acupuncture Only Packages Available:

      • $375 for 3 visits ($125/visit)

    • Please note add on services like cupping, scraping or gua sha, herbal counseling and cost of herbs are at an additional cost

  • $75 for a 20 min cupping or scraping visit only (without acupuncture)

We will also file your insurance at the insurance rate (which is higher than the non-insured full service rate), sometimes, insurance end up paying anyway.

It’s a confusing process and no guarantees can be made with what is said over the phone or by email with the insurance companies. Therefore, we have to apply this policy to continue serving the community. We hope you understand.
